#Giveupthebottle, Not Your Curls

Having wavy, coily or curly hair can be annoying when looking for the right products to wash our hair without any damage or ruin.

Global sustainable beauty pioneer, Ethique, has released two new concentrated bars scientifically formulated for wavy, curly and coily hair: curliosity sold conditioner and co-wash, and professor curl solid shampoo.

Developed in line with the globally recognised “curly girl method”, the unique power-packed duo offers a carefully curated blend of ingredients proven to protect and enhance curls.

Curliosity and Professor Curl have both been tested on all curl types to perfect their ability to reform luscious locks, and protect and promote soft, shiny and bouncy hair.

Like all Ethique products, the bars are proudly made in Aotearoa New Zealand and have been created in line with the brand’s unparalleled sustainability credentials.

The new products are 100% plastic-free, cruelty-free, vegan, palm oil free, sustainably sourced and ethically traded.

They’re also packaged in 100% home-compostable materials which can simply be popped into home compost bins or gardens to return nutrients to the earth.

The new range is free of waxes, silicones, sulphates and drying alcohols – ingredients often found in regular hair-care products but which can sometimes be drying or damaging for the more delicate structure of curly hair strands.

Instead, the formulation brings together nourishing shea butter, organic and fair-trade cocoa butter and conditioning, beet-derived betaine amongst other nourishing ingredients to efficiently care for, enhance and protect all kinds of curls.

Environmentalist, scientist and founder of Ethique, Brianne West said: “We want everyone to be able to give up the bottle and we understand curly hair comes with different requirements to other hair types.

We’re excited to offer the curly community in Aotearoa New Zealand and in our key export markets another option when it comes to plastic-free hair care.”

“Professor Curl is probably one of the best shampoos we’ve ever made – it has a super creamy lather and a really light finish.

Curliosity is extra special too – it’s the equivalent of nine bottles of conditioner in one concentrated little bar, which is the best value conditioner out there.

It can be used as a conditioner, co-wash or as a leave-in treatment which even our straight-haired friends can use for deep conditioning.”

Additionally, the two new products have been crafted to cater to any personal preference of washing and drying techniques that are unique to every head of wavy, curly or coily hair – including plopping, pineappling, scrunching, diffusing and air-drying.

Globally renowned for its conscious and concentrated hair, face and body products, Ethique is now found in over 22 countries, in over 4,000 retailers and was recently placed at #22 out of 500 in Financial Times High Growth Companies Asia-Pacific, and #1 in the category of home & lifestyle.

Ethique has just been placed as a ‘Best for the World B-Corp’ for the fourth year running, and recently achieved climate-positive status, meaning that the brand offsets 120% (more than they emit) of its carbon emissions – a huge achievement for the beauty industry leaders.
