Give a Christmas gift to help pets in need

Give the gift of safety for pets this Christmas with our stunning animal lovers gift wrap by Dulux Colour Ambassador and well-known illustrator and designer, Evie Kemp.

Pet Refuge and Evie Kemp have created some beautiful gift wrap for the festive season.

All sales will go directly to Pet Refuge which provides temporary care for animals while their owners escape abuse, until they can be reunited.

Pets are transported from around the country to the shelter, which is a comforting safe haven for the animals on the outskirts of Auckland.

Evie Kemp is an animal lover, and has created two gift wrap designs, one for dog lovers and one for cat lovers.

They are $4.99 per A1 sheet and can be found in Pet Stock retail stores nationwide from November 29.

100 per cent of the profits will go directly to Pet Refuge to help its mission to remove a major barrier to pets and their families escaping domestic violence.

Dulux have also helped with the design and painting of the Pet Refuge shelter, donating all the paint needed for the large, purpose-designed build as well as sponsorship and technical support.

The animals have a large Evie Kemp mural at the shelter to enjoy – painted using the Dulux Colours of New Zealand range.

As of 10 November, there were 27 animals boarding at the shelter. Since the refuge was set up, 48 animals have been helped – 19 dogs, 17 cats and 1 small pet. 19 have been reunited with their owners.

“Christmas is an extremely hard time of year for anyone escaping a violent home. There’s a greater need than ever to help these animals heading into this season,” says Pet Refuge CEO Julie Chapman.
