With the softness and strength you know and love, the Kiwi brand CottonSofts is now listing potential bowel cancer symptoms on their new packaging, all with the aim to save lives!
In association with Bowel Cancer NZ, CottonSofts, who has been a key sponsor of Bowel Cancer New Zealand for nine years, has created this innovation to provide consumers with a regular reminder of bowel cancer symptoms, encouraging New Zealanders to get checked at the first signs.
Many of us wouldn’t know what to look for or what these signs are, and with New Zealand having one of the worst rates of bowel cancer in the world, symptom recognition is essential.
More than 3000 New Zealanders are diagnosed with bowel cancer every year, and over 1200 per year will die from this disease. Three-hundred-and-fifty of these diagnoses are people under 50 years old, and while bowel cancer is more common in those over 50, it does affect people of all ages.
It is estimated that one in every 18 Kiwis will develop bowel cancer in their lifetime. You are never too young to get your symptoms checked and CottonSofts branding will be a repeated reminder to consumers, ‘Don’t Sit on Your Symptoms’.
This message can help us put our health and well-being first and be prepared, and the good news is more than 90 per cent of cases can be treated successfully if caught early.
The New Zealand brand have taken this very seriously, jumping at the opportunity to encourage Kiwis to get tested. With the use of its brand reach, this is a massive win for New Zealand and could have a direct positive impact on bowel cancer statistics within the country and beyond.
Using their loveable brand to spread awareness, CottonSofts says their ground-breaking initiative is a first in New Zealand, with their new Posh Double Length 3ply 6 pack being one of the first packs with bowel cancer symptoms printed on the packaging.
In May CottonSofts will produce its special CottonSofts 24 BCNZ pack with 50 cents from each used to help support BCNZ to help raise awareness of the ‘Move your Butt’ campaign in June. The June Move your Butt campaign is a key fundraiser for Bowel Cancer New Zealand.
CottonSofts range of toilet tissue is as gentle as a cloud, yet super reliable thanks to its distinctive ‘cloud’ embossing and top quality tissue, and now, along with their important message to our country, we can see they live up to their reputation of being as strong as they are soft.
