Get the inside scoop at Auckland’s newest hotspot – LF Seltzer Scoop Shop – a dedicated gelateria serving wine seltzer spiked gelato.
After a year we’d rather all forget this sassy and saucy experience is set to bring the fun back, just in time for the good weather.
From Thursday to Sunday every week in November the LF Seltzer Scoop Shop will be serving LF Seltzer spiked gelato and a selection of boozy toppings created by local ‘ice-perts’ Island Gelato Company.
Founders Ana Schwarz and Geoff Tippett know a thing or two about out of the box creations – Ana was runner up on MasterChef in 2012 and since founding the Waiheke born Island Gelato Company in 2014 the couple has created hundreds of flavours with all manner of weird and wonderful ingredients.
“We are constantly adapting, experimenting and testing in the pursuit of that perfect mouthful of excitement,” says creative director Ana.
“We’ve done everything from charcoal & coconut to goat cheese, blueberry & rose so naturally we jumped at the chance to create wine seltzer spiked scoops with the LF Seltzer team.”
The duo have created three delightfully delicious and vegan friendly flavours to match LF Seltzer’s debut range, all of which are infused with the product itself.
Bubbling onto the scene from early November, the three ready-to-drink wine-based seltzers take award-winning New Zealand Leftfield wines and infuse sparkling water and natural botanical flavours for a refreshing drop.
Leftfield winemaker Richard Painter says a gelato coupling for LF Seltzer is a match made in heaven.
“LF Seltzer was a response to our customers asking for a refreshing, clean and delicious drinking option, especially for the summer months, and I couldn’t think of a better accompaniment for it than a delicious scoop of Island Gelato Company’s finest,” says Richard.
Sweat Shop Brew Kitchen will play host to the LF Seltzer Scoop Shop with every can of LF Seltzer purchased giving punters a ticket for a free scoop of their choice.Tastebuds will be tantalised with three delectable gelato and seltzer matches – Yuzu, Mint & Cucumber with Sauvignon Blanc is perfectly paired with a light and zingy scoop of the same flavours, Strawberry and Hibiscus with Rosé meets its match in a sweet, smooth and moreish mouthful and Pear and Ginger with Pinot Gris is teamed with the gruntiest of the bunch, a full-bodied gelato with subtle sharpness.
“We’d already been experimenting with boozy gelatos when this collab came knocking and we can’t wait to share the results with customers at this epic pop up,” says Ana.
“Beyond great gelato, it’s important to us that customers also have a funky space and vibey atmosphere to enjoy their scoop so the creative feel of LF Seltzer Scoop Shop was the perfect fit.”
The LF Seltzer Scoop Shop experience includes a pop-up parlour, complete with ultra-grammable see-saw and scoopalicious servers.
