Looking for some winter family fun? Another season of ice skating in the city commences at Auckland’s Aotea Square from June 17.
As winter approaches, it’s time for Aotea Square’s magical, wintry make-over with the return of the hugely popular ice rink for its fifth year.
Bringing mid-winter carnival fun to the mid-city, the ice rink will return with the ever thrilling 35 metre long double-laned ice slide and the Penguin Kid’s Zone.
The event is always hugely popular with over 20,000 people attending every year.
2016 will see a stunning light display transform Aotea Square, as well as an added icy atmosphere thanks to life size polar bears, penguins, and seals created by Rawstorne studio.
The installation of the 100 per cent ice rink comes just in time for the school and university holidays and is suitable for people of all ages looking to get amongst the winter atmosphere with a fun activity.
The full programme will be announced along with a special announcement soon too!
Helmets are available free of charge and beginners can also hire out skating frames.
