What to take on a summer picnic

The weather’s heating up and with New Zealand’s stunning range of outdoor locations – it’s the perfect time to plan a picnic. Here’s some suggestions of what to pack:

1. Adorable Picnic Jars

These adorable picnic jars with crunchy Asain salad and peanut dressing are a perfect addition to your picnic basket. It’s no fuss and everything tastes amazing when it’s serves in a Mason jar. This recipe serves four so if it’s a cute date you’re heading out on, half the recipe. Place the dressing on top of each of the salads in the jars. Alternatively, store the dressing in a small jar and serve on top when you’re ready to eat the salad. See the recipe here.

2. Sileni’s Nano range

Perfect for the outdoors or your picnic basket Sileni Nano offers convenience that doesn’t compromise on wine quality. The Sileni Nano is the first 100 per cent recyclable, all-in-one glass and bottle. Sileni Nano comes in a unique single-serve package made from multi-layer plastic, making it leak-proof and unbreakable. Traditionally plastic packaging alternatives have not protected the wine from oxygen and light, meaning the wine is not at its best when people drink it. The Nano range features the same wine as the award-winning Sileni Cellar Selection range, include a Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc and Hawke’s Bay Pinot Noir. Sileni makes wines designed to bring out the best in local cuisine from around the world, enhancing flavours and textures. The Sauvignon Blanc is delicious with seafood, a summer salad or fresh goats cheese. The Pinot Noir matches perfectly to a soft and creamy brie, smoked salmon or try it with duck or lamb.
