Untouched World’s response to our Who Makes Your Clothes? campaign.
Read the letter we sent Untouched World here.
Dear Sarah,
Thank you for inquiring about Untouched World production.
Untouched World is a luxury lifestyle brand that grew out of a desire to create a positive, sustainable future. Social, cultural and environmental values are embedded deep within the DNA of Untouched World, while quality, function and style remain pivotal to the brand’s success.
Garments, yarns and fabrics are manufactured both in New Zealand and overseas. All our partners are screened to ensure they align with Untouched World’s cultural, environmental and social values. The manufacturing origins of our products are readily identifiable. Untouched World has also considered environmental impacts during the on-going service life of the products. Ranges are for example designed to reduce the need for laundering.
Full life-cycle analyses of products are regularly conducted and available to view in our stores. Untouched World’s ‘eco’ supply chain includes components such as recycled fusing, recycled cotton buttons and organic cotton back sew in labels.
Untouched World has a set of company policies to support sustainability objectives, along with supply chain and stakeholder review processes. This progress is logged on the Sustainability Company 360 degree website so we can show interested customers and suppliers.
There is a shift going on in the world! Consumers are increasingly moving to purchases that meet their needs not only in physical terms, but feel good terms. They want to know what the real cost of that item is. What value is that dollar spent on that item delivering all the way back down the supply chain?
Kind regards
Peri Drysdale
Chief executive, Untouched World
