Things to do with mum on Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is almost here! Good has created a list of ideas to celebrate your mum this Mother’s Day – she deserves it!

Treat her to a spa day

We all know mothers work hard. Book some well-deserved me time for your mum by treating her a spa treatment or even book a mother-daughter spa day to make it an extra special girl’s day for the both of you.

It’s a simple gesture that requires little to no planning, just researching and making a reservation.

Get active!

If your mum is someone who loves to get her adrenaline going why not spend time with each other doing something active! Take the family bikes down to the nearest cycle trail or find a good hiking spot.

You can even get out garden games for the whole family to enjoy. How about playing a family game of rugby, volleyball, frisbee throwing or even some footy!

Have a picnic

Everyone loves a picnic. If mum loves the outdoors, why not surround her with nature and fresh air and enjoy some classic family time everyone can enjoy.

It can also turn into a fun bonding experience by making and packing the picnic food together or make it a surprise experience.

If the weather isn’t looking too good outside, you can get creative and have a picnic indoors by moving some furniture around to create some extra floor space to lay down the picnic blankets and create a special atmosphere.

Dinner and a movie

Sometimes sticking to the classics is the best way to go. Take your mum out to a good old-fashioned dinner and a movie date, but don’t forget to let mum choose what she wants to see!

Visit a winery (or wine tasting at home)

Nothing says “I love you mum” more than treating her to some good tasting wine. Schedule a wine tour at her favourite winery and grab her favourite bottle to take home.

If you’re stuck at home on Mother’s Day host a DIY wine tasting either in person or virtually for both you and mum to enjoy!

Take a trip down memory lane

Take out the old photo albums and talk about your favourite memories from when you were younger. Think about old family vacations, birthdays, holidays, Christmas’ and more.

You can even put on the old family movies and make a day of family movie marathons and reliving all the good memories you’ve made so far while making some new ones at the same time.

Treat mum with breakfast in bed

Pamper your mum straight away on her special day by making her a tray full of her favourite breakfast goodies and deliver them right to her bed.

Or whip up a special recipe for delicious waffles with crème fraiche and berries or classic pancakes with bacon and maple syrup (or berry compote).

Whatever you decide to make, you’ll both be ready to tackle the Mother’s Day activities you have planned.
