Organic Winegrowers New Zealand (OWNZ) is excited to unveil the dates for the highlight of Organic Wine Week (OWW) 2024. The Down to Earth events will be held in Wellington and Auckland, offering wine enthusiasts a unique opportunity to explore New Zealand’s organic wine scene.
Down to Earth will kick off in Wellington on September 17, 2024, at Prefab Hall, and will continue in Auckland on September 19, 2024, at Brad’s Warehouse.
Organic Wine Week, established by OWNZ in 2017, celebrates organic wine over seven days, aligning with the Spring Equinox from September 16-22, 2024. This year’s Down to Earth events are set to be a focal point of the week, bringing together a vibrant mix of people, exceptional food, and a diverse selection of organic wines.
Naomi Galvin, OWNZ Marketing & Events Coordinator, highlights the significance of this year’s expansion: “The growth of Down to Earth reflects a rising consumer interest in organic wines. Our new, more central and spacious venues in Auckland and Wellington will accommodate greater participation, creating a lively and educational atmosphere. It’s a fantastic chance for attendees to taste a wide array of organic wines, meet over 25 producers, and understand the benefits of choosing ethical and environmentally-friendly options.”

- Details: For the first time in Wellington, attendees can sample over 70 of New Zealand’s most intriguing certified organic wines and meet more than 25 premium producers. General Admission tickets are now available.
Down to Earth Auckland
- Date: September 19, 2024
- Time: 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm
- Location: Brad’s Warehouse, 11 Durham Lane, Auckland CBD, Auckland 1010, New Zealand
- Details: Returning for its second year in Auckland, this event also features over 70 certified organic wines and a chance to connect with more than 25 producers. Early bird tickets are still available but are expected to sell out quickly.
In addition to the Down to Earth events, Organic Wine Week will feature a variety of other activities, including wine list takeovers, winery pop-ups, winemaker dinners, retail promotions, and in-store tastings. These activities will engage both trade professionals and consumers, celebrating the growth and impact of organic wine in New Zealand.
