Supermodel Gisele Bündchen made a powerful fashion statement at this year’s Met Gala with a stunning eco-friendly gown by Versace, just another step in the right direction for the global fashion brand who recently announced their dedication to animal welfare by banning fur in March.

Sharing on her Instagram page to her 14-million-strong fan base, Bündchen, wrote “Ready to go! Thank you to the entire Versace team for working so hard to make me an eco dress. The fabric and lining used are both 100% organic silk ecologically dyed, the threads are 100% organic cotton and everything is certificated as GOTS: Global Organic Textile Standard.”

This isn’t the first time Bündchen has used her influential power to highlight sustainable fashion. In 2014 she wore an eco-friendly dress to the Rainforest Alliance Gala, as well as a dress made from organic silk and embroidered with sustainable glass beads by Stella McCartney to the Green Carpet Fashion Awards in September 2017.
