Heart house

A former refugee herself, Kowtow’s Gosia Piatek has released a beautiful limited edition design for World Refugee Day on June 20 to help raise funds and awareness for refugees resettling in New Zealand.

Here’s one more reason why we love ethical fashion brand Kowtow.

For World Refugee Day, Kowtow has released a limited edition Heart House print and all proceeds from the sale of garments featuring this print will go towards supporting refugee resettlement in New Zealand through Red Cross’ refugee programmes.

Kowtow founder Gosia Piatek came to New Zealand as a refugee with her parents from Poland and says she wanted to help other refugees in need.

“We are all human. It doesn’t matter if you are a refugee, you should be treated with the same dignity and receive basic human rights,” says Piatek. “To me, there is no other bigger topical issue than the current refugee crisis. Knowing we can provide ease to a family or add kindness to life, and not adding any more hardship is the least we can do as a human race.”

The limited edition Heart House print features a house with a heart inside, a symbol that acknowledges the journey of refugees and welcomes them to rebuild their life in New Zealand.

Kowtow Clothing’s ‘Heart House’ T-shirt campaign is helping refugees.

The T-shirts are made from certified ethical organic cotton and available exclusively online at kowtowclothing.com from June 20
