Fashion and form collide

Fashion and form collide in a Kiwi collab that makes a masterpiece out of humble mud.

Arriving just in time for winter entertaining the collaboration between Jenny Drury, founder of New Zealand fashion label Ketz-ke and boutique ceramicist Yon Kavvas of Claybird features a chic serving plate in two unique designs.

An ode to Jenny’s love of hosting, the duo’s creations are set to bring a dash of chic to the table whether it’s cheese, charcuterie or high tea on the menu.

Featuring Claybird’s perfectly-imperfect hand casting and a signature infusion of sand from Waihi Beach at the foot of the Coromandel, the plates’ bold designs are overlaid as a nod to Ketz-ke’s much-loved statement prints.

The link to picturesque Waihi Beach is significant for both Jenny and Yon with each holding strong family ties to the area and complements their joint interest in seeking inspiration there.

The 28cm serving plate is the third piece in a series that the creative coupling has dreamt up – the first two iterations of which, a mug and cake plate, were a speedy sell-out.

Available in ‘Splat’ and ‘Drip’ designs from 1 July, each plate is hand cast and hand painted so numbers are limited.

Ketz-ke x Claybird ‘Splat Serving Plate’ and ‘Drip Serving Plate’, $75.00 each available from 1 July 2021
