L’Occitane’s first fragrance, Terre de Lumière is inspired by the break of day in Provence, France.
With every new chapter comes a new beginning. For their very first fragrance, L’Occitane went back to the very source of the beauty of Provence – where their brand started, in a bid to find the force that breathes life into plants – the very plants that become its previous ingredients. Every trail it followed led to the light… Something about this light never ceased to intrigue L’Occitane.
The team asked, “What if the light was the secret behind the uniqueness of Provence?”
The light is at its most radiant, its most sublime at the Golden Hour – a time where a unique scent fills the air.
“This is when the light is at its most beautiful. It is also when scents are at their height,” says Calice Becker, Master Perfumer of Terre de Lumière, who is one of three perfumers who created the scent, along with Shyamala Maisondieu and Nadege Le Gariantezec.
Says Le Gariantezec, “this fragrance represents a new chapter. With Terre de Lumière, L’Occitane wanted to focus on the feeling the emotion, at the heart of the fragrance. In doing so, it breaks with previous chapters that have focused on a single ingredient. Terre de Lumiere is composed around many facets and a multitude of notes.”
Zesty and aromatic at first, this signature fragrance unexpectedly melts into an infinitely gourmand heart, before settling into sensual balsamic and musky base notes.
“Terre de Lumière plays on the tension between masculine freshness and delicious feminine softness. It’s a very innovative scent, the first gourmant aromatic fragrance from L’Occitane, absolutely addicitive,” adds Becker.
Terre de Lumière also comes in a Gentle Shower Gel, a Beautifying Body Lotion, Radiant Balm and Perfumed Soap.
