Book Review: I Quit Plastics

The journey to being plastic-free is hard, but it’s a mindful path to a healthier relationship with yourself and the earth.

This idea of a better lifestyle is always at the top of our New Year’s resolutions, we just never know where to start. Instead of waiting till next year, get a head start on that resolution with I Quit Plastic by Kate Nelson.

I Quit Plastics is an inspiring book by an author who has been on a plastic-free journey for over a decade. Nelson is also the founder of Save The Mermaids, a nonprofit which educates others on plastic pollution in the sea.

Nelson’s book allows us to take a look into our mindsets and how we can change our current lifestyles and perspectives.

It includes plant-based recipes, some of our favourites being Zucchini Pad Thai and Lentil and Chickpea Falafels. There are also alternatives to daily essentials, like hand sanitizer made from aloe vera gel and a natural blush made from arrowroot powder.

If you are embarking on a journey to a new and mindful relationship with yourself and the earth, I Quit Plastics is the book for you.
