What’s on in August: Beervana, Wellington

By Good Magazine

June 2, 2017

If you enjoy a hoppy drop on the occasion, Beervana is an event you won’t want to miss. Back for its 14th year this August, Beervana showcases many of the best small independent craft breweries that are doing their bit to put New Zealand on the craft beer map.

Craft beer has hit the mainstream and there’s no better place to ride the frothy wave than at New Zealand’s most popular beer festival.

The Beervana festival taking place on August 12 and 13 will be held at Wellington Stadium and brings together the country’s congregation of craft beer enthusiasts to taste, reflect on and explore the hoppy drop in all its glory.

This year is shaping up to be the biggest in the event’s 14-year history. There will be 60 breweries serving around 300 different beers as well as a bar dedicated to our sister-city-in-beer, Portland, and bars in worship of sour beer and IPA. And there’s also seminars, free guided beer tours, a quirky home brew competition and some of the best beer matched bites you’ll wrap your chops around all year.

Beervana, Westpac Stadium Wellington, 12 – 13 August 2016. Tickets on sale from 13 June from Ticketek. Beervana.co.nz
