Ultimate Guide To The Perfect Bath

Baths are the ultimate self-care ritual.

Relaxing in foamy water with a glass of wine in hand and your favourite music playing in the background is the perfect way to unwind and de-stress.

Here are our tips for creating the perfect bath scene.

Clean the bathroom

Make sure your bathroom is nice and clean before relaxing in it.

Rinse down the tub, clean up any clutter that is on the floor, do a quick wipe of all surfaces and put away any stray items that may disrupt your relaxation time.

Setting the scene

Now you want to create your atmosphere.

Why not start by lighting some candles (scented or unscented) and place them safely around your bathroom.

Place a rolled-up hand towel to cushion your head at the top of the bath to support your neck and head.

Choose some relaxing music to play in the background, or if you prefer to watch something, set up a stool next to your bath to place your laptop or phone on.

Or grab a book you’d like to catch up on during your alone time.

Get your bath robes or towels ready for when you get out of the bath so you’re not losing the warmth scrambling for one once you get out.

And don’t forget to grab yourself a beverage of your choice, hot tea, a glass of your favourite vino or even a hot chocolate.

Start running the bath at the right temperature

Firstly, find the perfect bath temperature for you.

Before you cover the drain, make sure the water temperature is perfect, so you don’t ruin your bath by accidentally making it too hot on one side and too cold on the other.

Everyone’s temperature preference is different. Take your time in finding what works best for you.

Get the bubbles flowing

If you’re into it, bubbles can make your bath experience more fun and relaxing.

Pour your bubble bath in while the water is running for the perfect foamy bubbles.

Add a few drops of essential oils or bath salts

Essential oils help create a soothing scent for your bath time.

Lavender is good for having a positive effect on stress, depression and anxiety, citrus oils help to calm nerves and uplifting your mood, chamomile can help with sleep, stress, and anxiety.

Submerging our bodies into a bath filled with warm water and salt is also one of the best ways to restore ourselves after a long day or to help our body relax and destress.

Bath salts can help soothe sore muscles, moisturise our skin, help with sleep troubles, reduce headaches, and decreases our stress levels.
