Supplements, skin and self-care: the story behind Me Today

PRODUCED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ME TODAY

Read the story behind New Zealand supplement and skincare brand Me Today, founded in 2019.

Michael Kerr founded Me Today in 2019 to focus on nourishing his body inside and out. This new direction in lifestyle came about after his wife Nikki was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer, with her wish that Michael could ensure he was keeping himself healthy to look after their family.

Kerr has much interest in natural health with experience working for a global pharmaceutical company that also manufactured health products. He believes there is a definite need for medicine, but with a place for natural complementary health products. Kerr’s nuanced understanding of the health and wellness struggles that individuals face is what helped formulate the Me Today range.

Kerr says that Me Today products are for “Kiwis of any age and gender who want to take care of their health & wellbeing, and become the best versions of themselves”.

Living in a world where we are more sensitive to our physical and mental health needs than ever, Kerr observes, “the interest in natural health and beauty has been growing for as long as I have been in the industry. I think the internet and easy access to information has helped inform people and open them up to the idea of natural options. People understand they might not be getting what they need from their diet or are more aware when they aren’t sleeping and know that they have natural options that can help.”

Me Today supplements are formulated as close to 100% natural as possible while ensuring they are efficacious and improve our wellbeing. Based on scientific and traditional evidence, the supplements are highly absorbable and encased in vegetable capsules. Kerr says “Me Today products actually deliver on what we say they do.”

The skincare range is cruelty-free, contains no parabens, SLS/SLES or phthalates and is rich in botanicals, antioxidants and vitamins.

Although the manufacturing process in New Zealand is lengthy and expensive, Kerr says that working with top local product developers, manufacturers, and testing institutions throughout the country is vital to Me Today’s brand values. Delivering a New Zealand-made product that uses both premium and effective ingredients is the desired result.

There is also a link between the supplement and skincare ranges, with essential ingredients replicated throughout, including for the Women’s Daily and Protect ranges. A unique cross-category offering, users can genuinely nourish their body from both the inside and out.

The Me Today range is backed by ambassadors and athletes Beauden Barrett and Sarah Walker.

Kerr explains both ambassadors are a perfect fit for the brand, being “exemplary Kiwis who live and breathe the Me Today ethos of achieving your personal best with a holistic approach to wellbeing and ‘unlocking your best tomorrow”.

We love that!
