Students host a Sustain-a-Ball

It’s no secret that the fashion industry creates an incredible amount of waste, which is why students at Michael Park School in Auckland have decided to do their bit to make a difference.

With school ball season underway, the school’s charity team will host “The Sustain-a-ball” – an afternoon of preloved ball gown sales to help ball-goers and fashionable bargain hunters become more conscious consumers.

Now in its second year, the sustainable fashion sale is run entirely by students with the support from Tatty’s Designer Recycle and Everlasting who have donated many gorgeous items many designed by top New Zealand labels.

Picking up a second hand gown will not only support a more sustainable attitude to fashion, but will help make a real difference with all proceeds being donated to World Vision’s Sustainable Clothing / Anti-Slavery Campaign.
