In celebration of Matariki, Smales Farm is hosting a Matariki Star Trail expedition between July 1st – July 15th.

The magical urban expedition is a search for the seven stars that make up the Matariki cluster. The seven giant, luminescent stars have been created by light designer Angus Muir, and will be spread across Smales Farm for visitors to find.

Throughout the July school holidays, kids and their families can trek Smales Farm to find all seven strategically placed stars and complete finding the cluster. For guidance, a map will be uploaded online on July 1 to help star hunters locate each star and capture the keywords upon them.

As stars are easier spotted in the dark, it is recommended to visit the expedition at night and finish off with a meal and refreshments at the Goodside.

Smales Farm are also giving out $1000 worth of Goodside vouchers, so make sure you’re in quick.
