Saving our waterways with chocolate milk

Lewis Road’s new chocolate milk campaign involves a bid to restore New Zealand’s precious waterways

Lewis Road has just announced a new flavour of its famous chocolate milk made in collaboration their friends at Whittaker’s – Lewis Road Creamery Mint Chocolate Milk.

For this launch, Lewis Road is doing something a bit different when it comes to consumers wanting to get their hands on it first. They’re giving one lucky chocolate milk lover the chance to be the first person in the country to purchase the first cases of the new flavour, and help keep our waterways in mint condition at the same time.

The company is running a TradeMe auction where Kiwis can bid to win two cases of Mint Chocolate Milk, one for them and one for them to share with a friend. The funds raised are being donated to Million Metre Streams, a not-for-profit organisation that Lewis Road supports to protect and restore our waterways.

It’s an important partnership due to our alarming statistics that show 44 per cent of New Zealand’s monitored lakes are so polluted virtually nothing can survive in them, while 62 per cent of our lowland rivers are so polluted with pathogens we can’t safely swim in them. Furthermore, 74 per cent of New Zealand’s freshwater fish species are now classified as ‘threatened’.

The auction closes on February 25, get involved for a tasty and great cause.
