Emilia Wickstead teams up with iD Fashion Week

iD Fashion Week in Dunedin has a reputation for getting better every year and delivering some outstanding emerging talent and designs. And this year is sure to be another winner, with world-renowed Kiwi designer Emilia Wickstead coming on board.

Kiwi Emilia Wickstead has has an amazing career in the fashion industry so far. Moving to Milan as a teenager, Emilia then went on to study at London’s Central Saint Martins. Once graduated, she worked at fashion houses Giorgio Armani, Proenza Schouler, Narciso Rodriguez and Vogue in New York and Milan. Her label, which began as a made-to-measure business in 2008, has been worn by celebrities Alexa Chung, Poppy Delevingne, Laura Bailey, Suki Waterhouse and Samantha Cameron, alongside her most famous client – the Duchess of Cambridge, who wore Emilia Wickstead during her New Zealand tour in 2014. 

iD Fashion Week takes place this year from March 12-20

It’s designers like Wickstead who fashion students in New Zealand look up to. And they’ll the chance to be further inspired by her work and be critiqued by her when she returns to New Zealand to join the high profile judging panel for the iD International Emerging Designer Awards taking place as part of iD Fashion Week from March 12-20. Wickstead will also showcase pieces from her previous two Autumn-Winter collections, with several couture pieces worn on red carpets across the globe. 

Wickstead joins iD’s hall of fashion luminaries showing at the event, including Zandra Rhodes, Stephen Jones, Akira Isogawa, Lutz Huelle, Martin Grant and last year’s Queen of Vintage, Doris Raymond.

iD Dunedin Fashion Week chair, Cherry Lucas, is thrilled to be bringing Wickstead to iD.
