Tickle those tastebuds with tried and true teriyaki flavours. Can you really go wrong with Japanese-inspired salmon and noodles? We think not.
A Biroix Dutch Oven makes light work of your sauce and noodles and adds a beautiful splash of colour when you’re serving up.
Tuck in those napkins it’s time for teriyaki! Did you know that the teriyaki sauce we know and love actually originates in Hawaii?

What you need
4 fillets of Salmon, approx. 150 grams each
200 grams of egg noodles
1 teaspoon of oil (for frying)
1 bunch of bok choy (trimmed and washed well)
What you need – Teriyaki Sauce
½ cup of Mirin
½ cup of soy sauce
½ cup of white sugar
2 teaspoons of sesame seeds
½ Chilli (sliced)
Spring onion (sliced and soaked in cold water to go curly)
How to cook
To make your teriyaki sauce, place all ingredients in your Biroix Dutch Oven over a medium heat.
Bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally for around 5 minutes until amalgamated and glossy.
Transfer to a jug or jar, but don’t wash your Biroix Dutch Oven.
To make the salmon, heat a frying pan over a medium heat and add oil.
Sprinkle salt on the skin side of the salmon and place skin side down in the pan.
Fry on the first side for around 4 minutes then turn over and cook second side for around 3 minutes. (This is for medium cooked salmon. Fry times will vary depending on thickness of fillets).
While the fillets are frying you can cook your noodles. Pour boiling water into your unwashed Biroix Dutch Oven, place back on stove and bring back to the boil. Add noodles.
Cook as per noodle instructions.
Once cooked, turn the heat off and add bok choy. The residual heat will cook the bok choy.
When you’re happy with your bok choy, drain the water, leaving the noodles and greens in your Biroix Dutch Oven.
Add 4-6 tablespoons of teriyaki sauce to the noodle mixture and stir to combine.
Top with the salmon fillets
Garnish with sesame seeds, chilli and spring onions.
Serve extra teriyaki sauce on the side.
