MONDAY

With two small dogs, hap-hazard thrown together outfits like this are very typical for our morning walks. I found this NZ made ‘Backhouse’ vintage oil skin at a little church op-shop on the north shore, my Dallas Cowboys sweat is an old favourite from a buying trip to the USA, and a warm beanie and gumboots are essential for winter in the Waitakeres.
TUESDAY:

I’m a huge fan of men’s three piece suits, preferably vintage. I put this one on for a day of errands around Ponsonby and Auckland City. Some days a suit really helps to do adult things like seeing the lawyer and business banking admin.
WEDNESDAY

For lunch with girlfriends I wore an american vintage patchwork style maxi dress with western boots that officially still belong to a friend, but I’m trying to persuade her to sell them to me.
THURSDAY

I usually spend at least a few days a week sourcing vintage, this may sound dreamy but it can be quite exhausting so a comfortable outfit is essential. Today I wore my camo pants which are vintage Old Navy, and my husband’s jacket.
FRIDAY

The past few weeks I’ve been doing an extra vintage pop up market at Ponsonby Social Club on Fridays (in addition to the regular Saturdays). Winter markets outside mean I can wear my favourite vintage coats to keep warm. This one is a blue corduroy and sheepskin 1970’s treasure by Jantzen. I can usually remember when and where I found my best scores – this one was from a market in Kumeu about 7 years ago for $20.
SATURDAY

Vintage pop up market at Ponsonby Social Club with Helen from Gemini Vintage. This was our last Saturday market as we are about to open a bricks and mortar store together with both our vintage businesses sharing the space – The Vintage Clothing Boutique is open from September at 5 Great North Road, Ponsonby.
SUNDAY

I had my stall at Central Flea Market which is a super early 6am start. It’s freezing cold so I wore tights under leather pants, layers of thermals to remove one by one as the day warmed up, and yet another favourite vintage coat – an oversized animal pattern faux fur bomber by Nalla. This is my favourite market – the best customers and such a fun day – Dead Man Vintage will still have a regular stall here over summer even once the Ponsonby store is open.
