It’s easy to fall into a colourless rut in Winter as the days get shorter and darker, but after the year that’s been, we all could do with a bit of brightness.

Here to boost moods and energy this season is New Zealand design duo hej hej who welcome back their trademark rainbow-embracing hues for their AW22 collection, me, myself and hej hej.

The antithesis of slipping into winter darkness, designers Alice Isles and Kiki Judd unveil their highly anticipated 14th collection. A nod to their authentic and playful approach to design, new signature strokes of colour Lilac, Violet, bright shades of green and blue carry us through the Autumn and Winter seasons making a striking impression.

Drop one, arriving February 10th is a 15-piece collection that welcomes the return of their best-selling custom embroidered daisy pieces.

Designed in two different timezone lockdowns, Kiki in Shanghai and Alice in Auckland, the pair looked to old faves that they reach for every day to feel good.

Injected with new colour, iconic puffy sleeves and voluminous shapes as seen in the Lady Killer skirt and All Puffed Up top are back in a Lilac and Violet palette, offering a go-to staple, worn separately or together as a statement ensemble. Revisited signature throw on dress styles such as the ‘She’s Wrapped Dress’ and the flattering ‘Indiana Dress’ make their debut in the new hero “Cosmos” embroidery.

A new design, the ‘Silver Lining’ dress embodies little house on the prairie vibes in classic lightweight Indigo linen. Featuring a drop-shoulder sleeve and elastic cuff, ruffle crew neck and midi-length, this one size fits all number speaks to everyday wear with an unrestricted character.

Self-described as having a ‘healthy obsession’ with Linen, the natural and breathable fabrication always informs hej hej collections and Drop one is no different. Offering heightened textural qualities in lightweight, medium stonewashed and a more structured heavyweight linen, AW22 beholds a contemporary approach to a classic textile.

Transitioning into the cooler months, Drop two arrives on 15 March with new seasonal knitwear in bright indigo blue and emerald greens. The new ‘Chin Up’ Dress holds a relaxed fit in a winter warming ankle-length. Featuring a flattering funnel neck in a sleeveless style, the breathable merino/cotton offers transeasonal wear.

Destined to be this seasons sell-out top, the ‘Square Peg knit’ plays on symmetry with its square neckline, horizontal rib detail and slim fit long-sleeve. Available in the softer green hue of ‘Seafoam’ and Bright Blue, hej hej encourages wearers to clash this combo with their new ribbed ‘Upward Spiral skirt’ in Emerald green.

Earning their name as a destination for knitwear, hej hej has become renowned for their signature ribbed silk/cashmere knits.

As well as their go-to ‘Barclay’ and ‘Kidman’ knits, this season they welcome a new slim fit turtle neck ribbed skivvy aptly named, ‘Up to Here Skivvy’, created in a luxurious silk and cashmere charcoal blend.

Hej hej fans rejoice, the ‘Mellow Puff’ knit also returns this season in a vibrant Pea Green. Made from a mohair wool blend, the t-shirt style knit transports you to fireside eve’s with friends.

Designed for women who are equal parts playful and effortless in their style, hej hej invites you to parade colour this season in their collection of luxury linen and knitwear pieces.
