The community-based organisation Make Give Live has released special winter collection showcasing favourites in bright colours.

Customer favourites, such as the Amy hat with a stunning lace panel piece and the chunky two-toned Helen hat, will be available in a new variety of jewelled colours consisting of blue, pink, yellow and green, but only for a limited time.
This special collection accompanies the rest of Make Give Live’s winter pieces spectacularly, highlighting 16 various styles for adults, kids and babies, from a cool, contemporary colour palette including mustard and teal for the first time. Check out the full range
Make Give Live’s creative, crafty founder, Claire Conza, spent 18 months searching for her purpose before she came up with the creation of her social enterprise in 2016. She created the non-profit to help ease isolation and improve mental health and wellbeing through the connection of the community and the therapy of knitting and crochet.
Shortly after starting, she was joined by co-founder Becky Smith, who was moved by the concept the moment she heard of it and joined Conza.
“We feel it’s important to share a message of kindness and inclusion, which the world needs now more than ever, and Make Give Live enables us to do that in many ways,” Becky says.
A crowd of people would gather every week to knit or crochet beanies or cowls, which are then sold under a ‘buy one give one’ system. For every item sold, one is donated to a Kiwi in need through a variety of charities the social enterprise works with, including Age Concern, Give A Kid a Blanket, I Got Your Backpack and Lifewise.
There are currently 10 individual community groups around Auckland, Taupo and Christchurch knitting up a storm, and many more are keen to form a number of new groups for their community with a waiting list being formed as a result.
