Vegan Vibes, the outdoor plant-based food and wellness festival is making its return to Mount Maunganui on Saturday September 23 and promises to be filled with more amazing food, workshops, inspiring speakers and plant-based health products.

Veganism is once more on the rise and the latest data shows Kiwis are eating less red meat and adopting plant-based eating more than ever before.

This year’s Vegan Vibes festival sees the return of  popular food vendors like Judge Bao, The Midnight Baker and Angel Food, who provide vegan cheese to Hell’s Pizza outlets around the country. New to the 2017 lineup include food trucks Smoups and House of Dumplings from Wellington.

Tauranga-raised plant-based, raw wholefoods hero Megan May, from Little Bird Organics will be completing an exclusive cooking demo from her latest book, Little Bird Goodness at the festival, and activist, Muay Thai boxer and vegetarian, Richie Hardcore, will be holding an inspiring talk about overcoming hardships and how his strict vegetarian diet has had an amazing effect on his boxing career.

As well as celebrating all things veganism, the festival is a melting pot of information to increase awareness of other topics around sustainability and environmental damage including a special presentation from zero-waste expert Leo from Why Waste?
