Everyone has times when life is a bit tougher, and during those times it may be difficult for the friends and family supporting you to provide the good vegan kai you need to help you feel better.
Which is why we were excited to hear about Vegan Angels. While there are several places where people can get non-vegan food parcels and support, the Christchurch Vegan Society wanted to ensure the vegan and vegetarian community is also looked after too.
Vegan Angels offers a free one-off meal/baking service for vegans and vegetarians in need in the Christchurch community. Times of need may include during periods of illness, hospital stays, after birth, or times of trauma or grief.
“Our aim is for you to know that someone cares about you whilst also giving you nourishment while you are healing,” organiser Lisa Phelan says.
Curated and delivered by Green Dinner Table, a plant-based food delivery service, each box contains restaurant-quality food and recipes for three meals that can be cooked at home.
If you or someone you know needs a little help, you can apply directly to Vegan Angels.
