Disrupting the Auckland dining scene

Chef Yukio Ozeki from Azabu is collaborating with one of Auckland’s most innovative eateries, Culprit at Asahi’s pop-up restaurant AKAI DOA.

Taking place for a limited time only, diners can experience a unique menu where Culprit’s off-the beaten track, culinary experimentation will collide with Yukio Ozeki’s Tokyo-style dishes in the lively atmosphere of Las Vegas Club on K-Road.

Diners can watch in awe as Ozeki from Azabu and Culprit battle it out head-to-head, serving four mouth-watering courses each as part of a one-off AKAI DOA tasting menu, taking inspiration from Kiwi ingredients and Japan’s most popular beer, Asahi Super Dry.

While the AKAI DOA X Culprit menu remains tightly under wraps, what we can say is those lucky enough to experience the collaboration can expect a Kiwi, Asian fusion explosion that will leave them wanting more. It will be both interactive and immersive, featuring progressive flavours and bold plating.

Asahi’s AKAI DOA takes the dining experience to a whole new level this year, with immersive lighting installations by award-winning artist, Angus Muir, live fashion shows by the team at Stolen Girlfriends Club and the AKAI DOA X Culprit dining collaboration. It is definitely an experience not to be missed.
