Is your dining table tasteless and dull? Add a coat of high gloss black for an instant injection of tabletop glam
You will need:
Sandpaper of varying grades (100-220)
Paintbrushes and mini roller
Soft cloth
500ml Resene Waterborne Smooth Surface Sealer
1 litre Resene Waterborne Enamacryl Gloss Enamel
Step one
Sand the entire paintable surface using a light-grade sandpaper making sure your movements follow the same direction as the wood grain. Once sanding is complete, wipe down all surfaces with a soft, damp, well wrung out cloth. Allow to dry.
Step two
Paint the entire surface with a coat of Resene Waterborne Smooth Surface Sealer. This provides a grip on smooth surfaces, readying then for topcoating with your favourite Resene topcoat. Resene Waterborne Smooth Surface Sealer is waterborne, has lower VOCs than solvent-borne products and is Environmental Choice approved.
Step three
Using a mini roller for a super-smooth finish, topcoat all surfaces with Resene Enamacryl waterborne gloss enamel in a shade of your choice. For maximum drama, we chose Resene Blackjack from the Resene Whites & Neutrals collection.
