Switch off from your busy life, rejuvenate, re-set and experience a weekend full of mindful wellness learning and some luxury pampering. You can do this retreat with your mum, girlfriends or even your partner….
The Mindful Moments Retreat at Rotorua’s iconic Polynesian Spa is for anyone. Yes, your husband, friend, mum, or daughter is even allowed. Many retreats these days are targeted just for women alone. But this retreat is unique and inclusive; Anyone is welcome. For this reason, many couples attend, and so too do lots of groups of girlfriends. Mums and daughters come along too – of all ages.
“This weekend-long retreat is about elevating your health and happiness levels. Anyone is welcome. You’ll be educated, empowered, inspired and pampered here. It really is an incredible escape weekend and affordable compared to a lot of other options. I promise you’ll leave having discovered more ways to feel calm, healthy and happy,” says wellness expert Rachel Grunwell, a co-leader of the retreat. Rachel is also the Polynesian Spa Health and Wellness ambassador.
“This retreat is a chance to bring your mind, body and spirit into balance. My favourite thing is to share different de-stress tools that can work very quickly”.
Included in the weekend is yoga, meditation, a wellness workshop, a guided walk through the local forest (biophilia), multiple dips in the Polynesian Spa’s 28 pools, and guests get to indulge in world-renowned Polynesian Spa therapy treatment. Lunch is included on both days of the weekend retreat. There’s also a goodie bag included which is worth about $350. This includes Rachel’s book Balance: Food, Health + Happiness, which features 30 global experts sharing science-backed wisdom on how to be healthier and happier + 30 nourishing recipes. This book is a tool kit to go home with so you can read up on all the wellness ideas she talks about during the weekend – including nutrition, emotional intelligence… to happiness boosting research ideas.
The retreat also showcases mindful meditation teachings. This has been shown to reduce anxiety and stress, increase memory, and improve attention. The highly experienced Spa and Retreat Manager Helena Keenan leads this session on the retreat. While, Rachel Grunwell leads the yoga and wellness workshop offerings.
Surrounded by the natural elements of Rotorua and Polynesian Spa’s therapeutic alkaline and acidic spring waters, guests feel seen, heard and listened to on this retreat – as there are only 12-14 people on the retreat maximum.
This unique geothermal bathing and soul-soothing retreat originated at the Polynesian Spa in 2016 and has established itself as a must-do health and wellness experience for those wanting to unwind, relax and reset.
